Omega 3 is derived from fish oil, but not all omega 3 supplements are equal. The quality of omega 3 varies from brand to brand and very cheap supplements should be avoided as they may initially appear attractive but in fact offer little value for money. The quality of omega 3 can be measured by its DHA and EPA content. Some only contain 100 mg per softgel, which means you need to consume more than you think to get a beneficial dose.
